Talk about rowing into the sunset... Feel free to try and guess the identity of the sculler in the photo.

This is what rain looks like when illuminated by the RBC porch light. More importantly, this is what happens when we have to stay indoors because of thunderstorms.

The best kind of sailboat... Who me, gloat? Never!

Thursday, July 26, 2007

Hearing a helicopter overhead reminded me of this.. Taken on April 22, 2007.
I was REALLY tired, and looking for just about anything to take my mind off the fact that I had to row three miles just to get back to Riverside.

Another slow day in Igor land, so Cam and Tim get face time.

Damn it, we are being followed around by a launch full of women. Life is TOUGH.

Congratulations to the ladies of the HPG sculling group.

And their coach (and volunteer assistant)

A personal tribute to the TDF and my supreme dorkdom. Yes, I made the bike out of modeling clay. Yes, it has aerobars. I refer you to second part of the tribute. The aerobars are there in obvious anticipation of tomorrow's individual time trial.

Lightweight men had the morning off, everyone else was at Nationals. Obviously we had to have a perfect morning to row. Suckers!!!

This State Police Officer is my hero. He actually stopped a power boat AND took away their beer. Honest. Saw it with my own two eyes. They were welling up with tears of gratitude at the time, but really, I saw it. OK, sarcasm aside, this is the first time all year I've seen a power boat pulled over. It was pretty nice, especially as I was cooling my heels in six inches of water deposited by another power boat's wake.

A tribute to the first Riverside Sprints Mixed Eight Dash Champion. Slow day, ok???

Monday, July 16, 2007

Congrats, Jen and Andy!

This technically happened on Saturday, but you know, I didn't want to take away from Sean and John's birthdays. Bastille Day is turning into quite the red letter day on the calendar.

My Spidey Sense is tingling... Possibly the most elaborate paint job on any rowing shell, ever.

Congratulation to Alex Rothmeier, Burglar, a.k.a. stroke of the 2007 U23 LM4-

And to Mr. Patrick "Ogre" Sullivan, 3-seat in the U23 M4X.

Going artsy fartsy, because I can!

Is it a four? Is it a quad? Is it a spider on LSD? You decide...

Pete and Heather dominated the mixed double--and they beat our time in the open double by 2 seconds. In my defense, Aleks had to race them with Laura in the mixed double first. Whaaaaaaaaaa....

Royal Arch, Boulder, CO. Hiking with semi-natives at altitude can get a little tiring.

Rowing shells sighted at the Boulder Reservoir. We were there for the Boulder Stroke and Stride. (Igor 3rd overall, Margaret 8th), full results here. We did the short swim version (750M, instead of 1500).

It is the Fourth of July, after all! Taken from Flagstaff Mountain (or Hill?) in Boulder, CO

It's been a rough couple of months, so I am going to restart this thing slowly. We'll go with "Igor's Pic of the Day". If you want to see something from scullingfool appear as a pic of the day, post it as a comment.

Pictured above, Renee Hykel, 2007 Elite Lightweight Women's Single National Champion. Picture taken on Saturday, June 30th, in front of Riverside.
