days left until the Charles Party!

Sunday brought a trip out with the BU heavyweight men, good times hanging out in the launch with Tom, John and Alex.

Decent view from the docks, too.

Of all the stacking shots from this spring, this might be my favorite. HYP 1Vs heading into Mass Ave. (Harvard and Yale were basically even at the bridge, with Princeton trailing, Harvard went on to win by a couple of seconds).

Harvard Heavies are still kings of the Charles, with a victory over Northeastern.

Doesn't get more Boston rowing than rolling towards the racing arch with the CITGO sign in the background. And without getting too sappy, always fun to hang out with the program that started my own journey in this weird little sport, the MIT Heavyweight Men.

Last and definitely not least (except on the scale), the MIT Lightweight Women. Unfortunately, we got about zero sun for both days. That will of course prepare me very well for our trip to Ireland, but maybe won't prepare them as much for racing later in May and June.

Sweep women doing work at dusk under Nikolay's watchful eye.

Inspector Moon came out to supervise the sunrise.

Sunday, April 23, 2017

MSU came ready to race on the Charles, beating all the locals this weekend.

Glorious day for spectating on the Charles, after yesterday's doom and gloom.

Radcliffe lights made a clean sweep of it against Princeton

Some great racing between NU, MSU, BU and UMass, as well.

When nature gives you fog, you take long exposures.

4 RBC lightweights in the A final at the Spring Speed Order. Pretty good. Pretttty good. Also congratulations to Lauren for her third place finish, CBC's Mary Jones for winning the light single, John Graves and Felice Mueller for winning the open singles. Tom Peszek and Yohann Rigogne for teaching the youngings' some things about moving a pair. And Megan Kalmoe and Tracy Eiser for winning the women's pair.

Night meat wagon

A little bumpy, but it will do. It will do just fine.

This guy had a pretty good day in the time trial at the Spring Speed Order.

More springy things.

Lauren gets a few last strokes on home waters before the Spring Speed Order. Good luck to all racing in New Jersey, especially those training on the Charles. And that John Graves guy, he's ok, too.

Speaking of spring, it's actually starting to look like it around here.

UBC's Sam Batchelor getting some miles in before the collegiate racing begins.

Sunset behind Cambridge's City Hall.

Saturday, April 15, 2017

Big Green came down from the North Country and beat BU by half a second.

URI also beat up on the locals

Radcliffe, BU and MIT lightweight 2Vs line up perfectly for the shot.

This guy totally won the "Fan of the Day" award.

Another rough morning.

Motion panning 2 seat of the BU 1V (at least I think it's their 1-V).

Pretty spectacular sunrise over Cambridge tonight.

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

Noortje and Ashley out for a sunset row.

Anderson at night.

One of these is soooo not like the others.

Typical top of the morning from the top of the basin. Yawn.

First the varsity quad showed up.

Then Gevvie arrived
With Mary in hot pursuit.

So the question is... Did Jay call the rating up?
