days left until the Charles Party!

Before and after the first 5K piece on Saturday. Just under 20 people, and hardly a launch to be seen anywhere. Coach G opted for the self propelled option, as well.

Just hanging out at the top of the basin.

Day three of rowing. Perfect time to do pieces with my friends who are training for a little race in Tokyo. Basin was not as excited to see me as I was, but it's good to be back!

They should have been getting ready for NCAAs right about now, but at least Anna and Daisy are on the water.

Cic and her new ride, all sparkles. (Right before our cheering interrupted her rowing). And yes, it was very cold morning.

If you expected a completely wake-free pandemic experience, you were wrong.

Not what you'd expect to see at 7am in early May. Rowing clubs are still closed, but scullers are getting out there.

Mike Bannister going through Eliot. Took Paul for a morning stroll and took pictures of rowing for the first time in a few months.

Top 13 from the Men's Champ Eight at HOCR, in order of finish. For those concerned, NU is just slightly ahead of BU, but it was fun to have these two rivals right next to each other.

How's this character already one??? And yes, that is an adult sized cake slice.

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Ilana coming back in as the Moon sets. Taken during the last week of rowing (for us, at least).

Before it all went sideways. One of the few rowing photos of the 2020 season.

New oars, day one. Pretty photo, not the best row in the world. In retrospect, two-year old Croker oarlocks and brand new Concept II oars were NOT a match made in haven. Things got better from here, though.

That's pretty perfect. So perfect, I didn't wait until Wednesday to post it. :)

Heartbreaking news about the Holy Cross women's team. Florida training was probably the most fun I had rowing in college, and to have that turn into a deadly crash... My thoughts and prayers are with the team, and all the families of those impacted by the crash, especially (and unfortunately obviously) that of Grace Rett.

40 minutes after snow squal blew through town, this was pretty awesome.
