Fortunately I have two good reasons to visit DC regardless of the weather! (my brother Alex, and my birthday twin, Miranda).



Quite possibly the strangest "fireworks" display ever--in broad daylight, over the tidal basin in Washington, DC. So strange this goose had to get a closer look!

MIT open women had a solid day on the Charles. Photos should be up on row2k sometime today.



Rain+wind=suboptimal cherry blossoms in DC. Conditions are perfect for hanging out with friends and family, though. :)

The original plan was to wake up really early, and do pieces. For some unknown reason, I couldn't fall asleep until 12:30AM. With a 4:45AM wake up call, I figured that was probably not going to happen. So, I decided to go to the pool, instead. I got as far as parking on Vassar Street. Then, unfortunately, I looked up. "Hmm... That looks like it might be a good sunrise. And I am tired anyway." So, I got "lost" for a little bit. And then I went for run. The black line on the bottom of the pool will have to wait until this afternoon. Or next week. I think it was probably worth it. :)
