BU chasing BC at the Foot. Caution, objects in the image might be farther than they appear, due to the nature of the telephoto lens.

Another look out towards the western 'burbs, featuring the Perkins School for the Blind.

Testing the new waterproof(!!!) point and shoot. F2.0 and waterproof was hard to find.

Joe, clearly wondering "Why Igor, why?" back in April.

Sunrise from a few weeks ago.

Who will be the next member of the DSoF Board of Directors?

Ability to consume wide variety of beverages definitely a plus.

Emilio, from back in April. Hopefully he'll be back on the water soon, after some injures during the summer. Also, astute observers may conclude that the photo dump has, in fact, commenced.

Just in case you were wondering who I will be rooting for in a few minutes.

Family wandering around the Nichols Arboretum

Very... arboreal?

Look, everyone, no hands!

See you in a bit, Beantown.

Now we know that erging is a serious activity requiring adult supervision, but surely given Tommy's background as Princeton oarsman he didn't need THREE coaches observing him?

The Hyatt, looming large.

As reliable as clockwork, Paige's annual late season sculling mileage accumulation.

New sculpture on the MIT campus.

BU130s working on their two oared skills after the foot.

Sun casting some last rays on Watertown as the sun disappears into the Newton/Wellesley hills.

Good times in the 4-times. Mike set a pretty nasty rhythm, Sean steered a great course, and Evan and I pulled hard. In the end, we just eeked out a 0.99 victory over the varsity quad. Thanks to Jim, Jay, Jon and Tom for the racing, as well as CBC for organizing this last(ish) racing opportunity of 2016.

Oh, basin, I heart you.

BU men peeking through Weeks.

'Tis the season!

Resurrecting a game we haven't played in while, who wants to guess who's rowing in the shadows? Open to all guessers.

Fall's going to ground, even if the air temperatures are not.

Timelapse of the Women's Foot.

That new light on Weeks looks weird.

Lots of fireflies in the basin last night.

Bryna tracking towards Anderson as the moon disappears behind Weld.

Two of my favorite rowing people, Jim Pierce and Jay Manson, exploring the basin on Sunday, Jim and his shiny new boat in the foreground. Apparently, 6x2k in quads on Saturday wasn't quite enough for them. Though Jay did say "we are rowing very lightly".

Let the clouds run wild for 70 seconds on Sunday morning. They obliged by providing a nice frame around the skyline, and let the sun shine through.

NU took the varsity four at the Foot

And their open eight won despite slight modifications to their oars.

BC novices beat up on some Harvard kids.

Then, the super moon rose.

And THEN this guy decided to pose long enough for me to take this photo.. 30 minutes after sunset.

Radcliffe took the varsity eight by 19 seconds

NU won the varsity four by a whopping 1:09.

And also took at 13 second victory in the novice eight.

Sunset over Cambridge on Thursday night.

My head is actually the right shape here, unlike the slightly distorted photo on Instagram. :)

The remains of the USS Arizona on Battleship Row in Pearl Harbor. Thank you to all the Allied Veterans who fought in World War II, including both of my grandfathers, one of whom actually made to Berlin with the Red Army, and the other who was a doctor in the Red Army during the war.

Bow #2 getting ready to rumble in the club single at HOCR.

Fall is still hanging around.

MIT lightweight women and the skyline.

The previous night did not go to my expectations, to put it mildly. Still it was good to get up and trade puddles and forget about the next four years for a little while. Many thanks to Gregg who joined me for the fun.

Fat Cats getting some pre-race strokes in at HOCR.

Clouds running overhead, with a "bonus" fire in the Back Bay.
