days left until the Charles Party!

By the time I was done, Matt and Erik R. had arrived as well, and I ran into Sean on the way home. Brilliant!

Of course, this evening, the water was absolutely, perfectly, flat. Go figure.

In my defense, I didn't really forget the Kuronen principle. I was merely applying Smith's Law--"The Kuronen principle is generally not observed in the presense of motorized watercraft with a megaphone on board". I think I'll go update that "top ten signs that I am a dork" list now.

It is also entirely possible that I was just plain lazy. But I did spend four and half hours watching some excellent college basketball on Friday. And if Shelden Willaims learned to shoot free throws, it would have been far less exciting. :)

And that was still the best toe-ing job I've done in my life. Pretty sad, eh?

Friday, November 18, 2005

I think I've had about two days this year when I've rowed 25 miles in two workouts, never mind one. Wow. Well done.

Thursday, November 17, 2005

We haven't had one of these text-only comics in a bit. The fact that it's about email, and neither Sean nor John is involved is trully mind boggling.

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

Ok, something entertaining needs to happen in the am, or this will continue indefinitely.
p.s. congatulations to our newly elected officials. Especially the captain and secretary.

I believe the proper scientific name is Dorkus Igorus.
Sorry no comic today. Probably will post something for today and friday over the weekend.

As promised:

Since this is the dorkiest comic EVER, the graphs should be explained. When two lines intersect, people passed each other. Note that Rob's line gets closer but never intersects mine. Adrian should feel fortunate that Miranda wasn't there, otherwise his line would have been hot pink. The "drugs" are a coach, a fellow rower, and a device attached to one's oars.

Thanks to Trevor, Pete and Sean and the two power boat guys, whose names, to my everlasting shame, I didn't get.
p.s. I feel very fortunate to draw little pictures about what happened. Or, anything, for that matter.

Ok, I might be exaggerating a bit. But not as much as you would think. Tom probably thought he was in Legoland(Lego reference, copyright 2005, Pete Morelli).

Unfortunately for the ladies in the audience, you have to frequent the men's locker room to fully appreciate the last panel.

It appears that the Friday comic is becoming quite educational (or, at least the last two have been). Oh, and CRASH-Bs are February 26th, if anyone actually cared.
Err... February 25th, as pointed out by an astute reader...

I went to the basin first, in case you were wondering just how badly I had to steer to manage to find six miles betwee RBC and CRI.

Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Not sure if I like this new format that divides the DVD into Olympic and Non-Olympic events, instead of just Saturday and Sunday finals.

Monday, October 24, 2005

I'd like to thank the entire Charles River Community, USRowing, my fellow club members, (in particular Sean, John, Pete and Tom and me), for continuing to make asses of themselves and keeping this comic going. Also, congratulations to all those who raced this weekend, and especially those who medalled. You know who you are.

Thursday, October 20, 2005

Yeah, I know, I am really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Lack of calories impedes brain function???

Wednesday, October 19, 2005

@#$%ing CRI! I am all for "community rowing" and all, but if they can't find people competent enough to drive a launch, maybe they should do some fundraising for coach education, instead of new boathouse, eh??? ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH....
Rob appears to be mostly ok(his ankle was hurting), but there was damage to his boat, rigger, and oars...

Monday, October 17, 2005

To his credit, Sean went back to Riverside, changed into dry clothes, and went back out again. Now that's hardcore! Especially since it was cold, windy, and raining.

Friday, October 14, 2005

I think that I lied when I said I was going to stop complaining about the Head of the Connecticut.

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

I am, of course lying. The temperature will vary two degrees, and the wind will shift from ENE to NE.

Tuesday, October 11, 2005

Unless I think of some really creative insults, I think I am now officially done complaining about this (the regatta, not the weather). Well, at least from this soapbox.

Monday, October 10, 2005

That was the worst regatta I've ever been to. Ever. Props to Sean, John, Liane, Miranda and anyone else who was smart enough not to attend. More props to Liane and Miranda, as they didn't actually enter the stupid regatta.
Two eights and a four flipped. Yeah... What a bloody waste of time and gas.

Thursday, October 06, 2005

The reason I had to leave early was that Margaret broke her collar bone yesterday morning, which really sucks. Grrrrrrrrrrr....

Wednesday, October 05, 2005

Since ALL of the entries are a bunch of geezers, I guess I'll have to go with the most decorated ones as the favorites. :)

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

Oh yeah, and weed is banned in-competition, in case anyone was curious.
