By Wednesday, conditions became downright spectacular.

Conditions were really shitty, so I suppose I should post the picture of the jackasses that beat us on Saturday. :) Just kidding--it was a lot more fun and much harder than it would have been without Sean and Trevor. And then it wouldn't be racing. Thanks for the race, guys.

And just like that... it's gone. Though it's mostly melted now, it's still the first freeze. Should be fine for tomorrow am, I think.

A fitting tribute to my favorite chocoholic. Margs, I really wish you were here for this. You would have really had a blast. Five and a half pounds of chocolate will never be put to better use. You were fondly remembered, and will be greatly missed by all who were there. And there were a LOT of people there--you sure did pack a room. Two, actually. I just wish you were there to see it, and the room was packed for a very different reason.

Also, thank you to my brother Alex, Pete, John P., John W., Amelia, Miranda, Claire, Eugene, Becca and Gary for either helping out with the baking/chocolate making here, baking on their own, providing recipes, or bringing cakes all the way from NYC.

To Margaret's wake on Friday and coming back from her funeral Saturday. Kind of a weird yin-yang thing going on. Except the whole concept of having to make such a trip sucks.

There's rowing at the Met! I'd have more, but then the security guy told me that I wasn't allowed to use the flash. Also, they ran out of the rowing poster. (The exhibit was British Prints between the two world wars).

Some fall foliage by Weeks. Off to NYC/PA for the rest of the week. Cheerio.

I personally think I deserved to give me a present.
