I obviously graduated well before Sean Collier joined the MIT Police, but the Campus Police have been part of the Institute for a long time. Such a part, in fact, that the resident hackers put a replica of an MIT police cruiser on top of the Great Dome in 1994. With donuts inside. So yeah, we would occasionally grumble about them, but for the most part, we knew and appreciated that they were there to keep us safe. Which is not that easy to do on campus riddled with tunnels, open to the public, and full of nocturnal student life. I find great pride in that Officer's Collier memorial was designed by the a group lead by the head of the MIT Department of Architecture, J. Meejin Yoon. I also find utterly amazing that the team managed to create a monument not only representing Sean Collier and the MIT community, but also, somehow looks entirely in-place next to the Stata Center.

And now, for some lighter fare, some of MIT kids that the Campus Police have to deal with on a daily basis--the MIT Women's Lightweight Crew.
